How long would a trip from San Diego to Fullerton take on a weekday morning with traffic?

As far as traffic and time going has anyone taken this drive before? I need to be there at by 7:45 a.m. and not sure what time to leave San Diego. I was thinking 4:30 a.m. Please let me know if you have experience with this drive and how long it usually take.
Traffic at 4:30 won't be too bad. But if you leave after 5 you'll never be there on time. But leaving at 4:30, you'll probably be early, so just find somewhere for a cup of coffee or something. It should take about an hour and a half to get to Fullerton at 4:30 am, if you wait until 5, it may take 2 1/2 to 3 hours!
Traffic after five is insane! And, as a result, it will take much longer to get there.

It will take you at least a couple hours, more with traffic (which won't be too bad that early). If you leave at 4:30, you'll get there at about 6:45. But, if you leave at 5, you'll probably get there around 7:30.
If this is a very important appointment, though, I would say just leave at 4:30 and hang out at a coffee shop or something. Better to be way too early than late.
