What hotels in San Diego allow smoking?

I need to book a room in San Diego, but the person I'm traveling with is a smoker, and it seems like every hotel there says 100% non-smoking! Does anyone know off-hand ones that allow it…even just on the property? Thanks a lot!
Most hotels do allow smoking in certain rooms, but they do not advertise it. They do not want people knowing they allow smoking in some rooms because less people will come. The best thing to do is call a hotel. Most of the cheaper hotels will be more likely to allow smoking.

None. There is a city ordinance that prohibits smoking in all places of business and public spaces. Welcome to smoke free California. If your friend is compelled to work on their carcinoma, try booking a room at an Indian casino. There are several in East County.

Holiday Inn on the Bay. But you should call to check because they may have changed their policy based on what other reviewer said regarding smoke free CA. See here (scroll down):
