San Diego County
Also, how bout the best rolled tacos? Carne asada?
Los Quatros Milpas in Barrio Logan. It is a teeny tiny house and the people line up outside. everyone from suits to blue collar. When they run out of food…..you are out of luck until tomorrow.

Just about anything in Old Town is going to be great! It will give you the best variety in a generally close area. A little out of the way is Porky Land. There’s one in Barrio Logan and another in La Jolla. A great overall place is Tio Carlos in Point Loma off of Rosecrans. The crab stuffed shrimp are to die for. Good luck and enjoy!

If you don’t mind a lengthy drive, try La Paloma in Vista (Escondido Ave, near Vista Way). Gourmet Mexican featuring pheasant, antelope, duck & quail. They have standard fare also, but I stick to the gourmet menu. Nothing over $20. Huge portions; we’ve been a dozen times and never made it to the dessert menu yet…
