does anyone know how to get to newport beach from san diego on the coaster?

I live in San Diego and want to go to New Port Beach on the coaster. Will it take me that far? Where do I get off and on? How long does it take?
It looks like the coaster only goes as far as Oceanside:

Have you considered the train as an alternative? Amtrak travels from San Diego to a few Orange County stations for around $20 each way.
