My son (11yo) and myself are looking for a San Diego area beach to hang out and skimboard and possibly boogieboard while the wife subathes and reads. Were coming over from Phoenix. Basically whats the best beach to hang out at late July that will be the less crowded and good for skimboarding? Were amateurs so big waves aren’t a must. I don’t want a beach where surfers own the wave every 10 feet. Also beaches that are sandy and not rocky. Our main goal is the beach so shops and luxery means nothing. Thanks

Coronado might be packed, but that is because it is one of the best beaches in the country.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale’s vagina.

In your opinion, which beach would be the best for a small wedding? i want an awesome scenery!! :)
and when is the best time to have a wedding, weather wise? I was thinking July? Any help you can give on a small beach wedding in san diego would be AWESOME!! :) thanks!!

You just have to watch out for airplanes! They will drown out the music and minister’s voice even if a sound system is used!

Also, watch out for animals and birds. Seals and sea lions smell bad and if your party is down wind from that… Well, you get the picture. And wherever seagulls are around there’s squawking and bird crap
