i am taking a vacation to SD and i have never been there before.
i am staying a few nights near the gas light district (or whatever that is) and then i wanna stay near the beach but i have no idea where to go.

any ideas on great places to stay that is near or in walking distance to the beach in San Diego?

The Best Western Blue Sea Lodge at the foot of Pacific Beach Drive. Get rooms 105 or 107. You are right on the beach. You are also within easy walking distance of all the fun spots in Pacific Beach. There are lots of restaurants within a two minute walk. You are 20 feet off of the sand. If the weather gets screwy this hotel has a nice pool with a glass wall that lets you swim in the pool while watching the waves.

Living in SD for over 45 years in the Clairemont and Pacific Beach areas I have taken Staycations here and always had a great time. Pacific Beach is like the Gaslamp District, only it’s more layed back and casual. It’s shorts and sandals compared to slacks and shoes.

Here’s a link to the hotel. http://www.bestwestern-bluesea.com/ You’ll really like this place and the surrounding area. It’s a lot of fun.

I know a very popular beach there is Mission Beach, but I go to that beach almost every time I visit san diego, and it’s just full of too many people. I want to know if there is a sandy beach nearby that is a little less populated than that one, with nice waves too! Not a bay. Thanks :)

There are small secluded spots in La Jolla. They are usually locals only because there are no rest rooms, parking lots, or other facilities.
Marine Street is very nice and Windansea is an historic surfing location. At low tide you can walk along the tide pools.

i need to know what beach in san diego california the hilton hotel is at and i think it starts with an A…….?

The Hilton is on Mission Bay not the beach. It’s near De Anza Cove, if that’s what you’re thinking about. There are no beaches in San Diego that begin with "A".
