Hi I’m thinking of taking a day trip out of San Diego into Yuma Arizona. I want to know what is good to visit, eat, and see between here and Yuma.

I’m taking the 8 freeway. I was planning to stop at El Centro but I have no "official" plans, just want to get in my car and see what’s out there. Look for recommendations of what is out there.

8 east heading out of San Diego is Vieja’s Casino and a huge mall. Then a bit further up is the "Bread Basket" restaurant. Pretty good and nice setting. Julian is up there, then in Barstow is a really neat Mc Donalds that looks like a train and has a gift shop in it too. As far as yuma not too sure but I live in San Diego so I hoped that helped a bit. Have fun!

Me and my family are going to California this summer and would like to stay in San Diego. What are some nice hotels from $100-$130 a night, close to Sea world, beaches and shopping? It would be great if the hotel was right across from a beach too!

Thank you!

Let’s be honest summer is going to be tough. That’s the high rent time. Right on the beach is not going to be cheap. There are a ton of motels along Mission Blvd in Pacific Beach that might work for you. I love the Beach Cottages but I don’t think they meet your price point. The same with the Bahia and the Catamaran. Right across the street is the Mission Bay Motel. Haven’t stayed there in years but you might find them more affordable. Also some others are Best Western Blue Sea Lodge, the Surfer Beach Hotel, the Ocean Park Inn, all right on the Beach. Just a block or two from the beach are the Beach Haven Inn, the Seacoast Palms Inn or the Pacific Shore Inn. Just some thoughts.
Another idea is to check out a rental. Many of the places along the beach rent out for the week. It is usually cheaper if it’s a family.
Check out this site for more ideas of what to do while in San Diego.

I am a college student in Boston who is looking to stay with family in San Diego California for the summer, but obviously not without employment. I don’t know how to go about looking for a job long distance, and can’t go out there without a job basically lined up. I am looking for advice and maybe some websites that will help me find a job in retail, restaurants, golf courses, anything, preferably near the Miramar Marine Corps Base area. Any thoughts or advice will help!

I looked on the San Diego Zoo website and i guess it showed that you have to pay seperately to go to the wild animal park, but i was wondering if they both are located at the same place? i’m confused about that because im kind of thinking they are connected you just have to pay seperately and they are different parks located in the same place?

Administratively, yes, they are connected, but physically, no. They are quite far apart. The zoo is in town and the Wild Animal Park is way out in the countryside. This site: http://gocalifornia.about.com/od/casdmenu/l/bl_casdmap_wap.htm
has a good map showing where they are.
