Spy Glass Inn at Shell beach(one of our favorites) is about half way between S D & C. Madona Inn, you have to see it to believe it, in San Luis Obispo is worth the stop. It is situated on about
2000 acres or so of pastoral beauty. Hearst Castle(make res.),Central Coast wine region and the spectacular scenic coastline are only a short distance away.

Best Golf courses in San Diego?
I am playing at Torrey Pines for sure and would like to play one or two other courses.
I'm Staying at the Mission Valley Marriot.
If someone could help me that would be great. I would prefer to play a country club, but all suggestions would be helpful.
Thank you
torrey pines is definitely one of the best and beautifulest courses out there–a seaside view =)
Is there a buy one ticket, get a season free promotion going on at the San Diego Zoo right now?
I'm looking to visit either the san diego zoo or the wild animal park there, and I think I saw a commercial that said buy a ticket, and you get the whole season free. Is that the San Diego zoo? Or the Wild animal park? Or somewhere else??
Thanks!
That would be SeaWorld, actually. It's called the Fun Card.
The zoo has a promo called the 3-for-1 pass: The Zoo, Wild Animal Park & SeaWorld for one price, but I don't think you could use this promotion to get the Fun Card at SeaWorld.
The Zoo also has an annual pass for $71 for adults, and that can also be used at the WAP, but not SeaWorld.
Good Beach Location for Wedding in San Diego County?
Im looking for a spot either on the beach or on the cliffs with an ocean view. It need to be somewhere between San Diego and Oceanside and the farther north the better. Our reception will be in Fallbrook and we dont want to have to travel TOO far to get there. We need a space that will hold no more than 50 people.
The "Wedding Bowl" in La Jolla sounds perfect for you.
Location: Intersection of Coast Blvd. and Cuvier Street
Telephone: Contact the City of San Diego for permit – (619) 235-1160
Capacity: 40 ( I have a friend who squeezed in 70) This popular wedding site is a small park called Cuvier Park. Wedding Bowl offers a spectacular setting overlooking La Jolla Cove. The grassy bluff is 5 steps below the street providing some privacy. The city issues just one permit per day for a wedding ceremony at this park. No receptions allowed.
Check the link below for other wedding suggestions.
I am looking for a house in mission beach san diego for 6 girls for the summer ,?
I am looking for a house that is not too expensive in mission beach san diego for about 10 weeks starting beginning of june 2008.
Tried all the real estate websites and there too expensive , does anyone have any other ideas.
What about an apartment or hotel that have corporate rates.
There might be an Extended Stay by there. You could get 2 connecting rooms…..3 girls in each…..they would each have their own kitchenette.
You haven't mentioned what your budget for rent is…….that would be helpful to let us know that. Are they under 18 accompanied by an adult? That can help you out in hotel rates. Do you have AAA.
Below are some links to help you.
what is the most affordable way to live in san diego?
i was offered a job for $85,000 in san diego. if i rented i san diego for $500 including utilities, would it be a logical to purchase property in Chicago (where im from), since its much more affordable, and rent out the property to cover my cost of living in SD? I would be able to take a tax credit, gain equity, and be able to expense travel to chicago to check on my property on my taxes. any thoughts?
update: i saw craigslist ads for 500ish from people looking to rent out rooms in their homes; i assume to cover the high cost of housing. i expect to work long hours, so im not looking for a lavish place to stay, just sleep. my accountant says travel to chicago can be a writeoff as a business expense since i already own property in chicago. thanks for all your input so far!
It is relatively expensive to rent in San Diego, I know a lot of people living with roommates who are paying more than $750 each.
I do not see how buying property in Chicago could help you out. I would invest the money and look for an opportunity to purchase a property in San Diego, but you will be shocked at how much property costs here. You might want to find a roomate as soon as you can upon moving here, try Craigslist for San Diego as a start.
If you attend church, you can often find rooms for rent on a bulletin board there.
Good Luck.

La Costa Resort
If you’re looking for a coastal California retreat that appeals to mom, dad and the kids, the La Costa Spa Resort is hard to beat.
Veronica Hill of California Travel Tips tours this gorgeous Mission-style beach resort, known for its world-class luxury spa, tennis courts, golf courses and own private water park.
Located just 15 miles north of San Diego and 10 minutes from sunny Carlsbad beach, La Costa Resort has been drawing sports luminaries and movie stars since its opening in 1965, and is one of the most popular spa hotels in the county.
Tiger Woods is no stranger to La Costa’s two championship Dick Wilson golf courses, while Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova have claimed titles at the resort’s world-class tennis center and clay courts.
But what makes this the best family vacation destination in northern San Diego county is Splash Landing, an awesome water park that combines three fast-moving water slides with a great water park for tots.
If that wasn’t enough there are eight separate pools competing for your attention. Toddlers will surely enjoy the warm 3-foot kiddie pool with its sandy shore and beach toys, while adults can soak up the sun or rent a private cabana at the resort pool.
Teens are sure to enjoy the Vibz lounge, packed with tons of activities from air hockey and pool tables to the latest video games.
In 2006, La Costa completed a $140 million dollar renovation, adding two gourmet restaurants, redesigned Mission-style guest rooms and a new, 43,000-square-foot luxury spa and salon. It’s no wonder this is one of California’s hottest spots for destination weddings.
Spa at La Costa pampers guests with its serene courtyard pool and strawberry-seed body exfoliations, while Deepak Chopra and David’s Simon’s world-renowned Chopra Center specializes in daily yoga and Ayurvedic spa therapies.
One of the best kept secrets is the Chopra Center’s complimentary meditation sessions, offered twice daily.
It’s a great way to start or end your day at this luxury 400-acre resort.
